The United Township High School track team has held the several titles throughout the years in track. The UT team was unable to defeat Rocky for 14 years, but now UT has pulled out of the slump and defeated Rocky for the past 2 years. This track team is wanting to be the absolute best that they can. Winning almost all their meets in the past 2 years, the Panther's team is one of the fiercest cats around. All the UTHS ahtletes that join track are proud to be part of the highly respected track team in the Quad City Area.
The most known titles right now for United Township High School track team is that they are the Western Big Six Champians for 2 straight years, beating the previous title holders, Rock Island High School. The other title held by UTHS is that they are the 2 timing Sectionals Champions, but last year was the first year in AAA and the fiercest teams were there at that meet. The team tied for first, but that still recongized UT as Champions. Going against the previous State Top Gun, East Saint Louis, the UT team beat them badly. As you think we want it all for our team, when there was a tie for first, we would wait for our plaque has the other team received the Sectional Championship Plague.
This not only shows our teams pride, strength, heart, and power, but it also shows our teams great sportsmanship. The UTHS has also been the Quad City Indoor Champions for the past 2 years also. In the past 2 years is when UT track has really pulled out in front of every other team in the state. Several varsity lettermen have began here at UT in the past 2 years. They are: Dominic Abiagom, Semi Ajibola, Jordan Atwater, Raimon Clay, Michael Crabtree, Jacob DeJaegher, Evan Frazier, Devin Miller, Keith Sands, Ryan Sodeman, and Cody Webster. All these athletes made their presence known for our team and helped our team get tougher. UT probably didn't win just cause of these new stars, but because of the great coaches making everyone from the experienced to the new even better than they already are.
