On Wednesday, March 2nd, 21 teams will participate in the Special Olympics annual Polar Plunge in the UTHS pool.  There will be a parade of team costumes and an ice bucket event.  Our UT deans and principals are excited to pick the teams who will experience the chill of the ice bucket. So, please bring your coins and drop them into the buckets for either the Deans or the Principals.  Admission will be $3 and the event will start at 3:30pm.  Your support and contributions go to support UTHS Special Olympic athletes, and we hope to see you there! 

Friday, March 4 is the last day to pre-order a copy of the 2021-2022 yearbook for the low cost of $50. Payment may be made online at or in the General Office. The availability of books to be purchased after March 4th is not guaranteed as there will be a limited number of extras. The cost then increases to $60 and payment cannot be accepted until the books arrive in late May. Save yourself the trouble and get your book ordered TODAY! You do not want to miss out on this COLORFUL memory keepsake.  


The Panther Pant 5k and 1 mile family run will be on Sunday, April 3rd at 10:00am starting out of the UT parking lot. The prices to sign up are $30 for adults, $20 for students, and $15 for 14 and under. Packet pickup will be Saturday, April 2nd from 10:00am-2:00pm at UTHS. Post-race refreshments will be provided. Attention seniors. Scholarships were updated February 14th with 5 more new ones. Please take a look at the list in your English class, on the Counseling Google classroom, or stop by the counseling office.  Most of the new ones will need to be picked up from the filing cabinet and returned to Mrs. Drish. Many scholarships require essays and letters of recommendation, so don't wait until the deadline to start working on them. See Mrs. Drish in the counseling office if you have any questions.

 Attention Juniors-UTHS is offering Doorway to College‚Äôs ZAPS SAT test prep course free of charge to UT students. You have two choices.  Students may attend on March 14 (during Spring Break) from 9am-3pm in the Commons OR on March 28 and 29 from 6:30pm-9:00pm in the Commons. Please register in the Guidance Office.  Registration will close March 8.

Peer mentoring group will meet today Thursday at 3:15-4:15 in the Gallery. This week we will have a guest speaker, Joe Moreno. Come listen to his journey with running. Anyone is welcome to come and join us.

There will be Blood drives signups during lunch today Thursday Feb 24th in the commons during all lunch periods. The Student Council Blood Drive is March 9th 8:00 to 12:00.

Ms. Ross and the IJAG students would like to thank those who have participated in the Black History Month events. The time has now come to announce our top 3 winners for the Black History Month Classrooms Door Competition

Drum Roll please... In 3rd Place we have Mrs. Hileman, Science Teacher, her class focused on Neil DeGrasse Tyson, an American astrophysicist, planetary scientist, author, and science communicator, 

In 2nd Place we have Mrs. Eisenband, Government and History teacher who focused on Shirley Chilsom, an American politician, educator, and author. In 1968, she became the first African-American woman elected to the United States Congress. Her class also made their door 3D! Go check it out! 

In 1st Place we have Ms. Jackson Dockery, a new teacher here who teaches Spanish and Spanish Heritage, focused on Afro Latino Heritage by showcasing writers, doctors and actors. Congratulations to all of our participants!! Ms. Ross will contact the winners soon! 


WHOOHOO is Fashion Friday tomorrow! Tomorrow February 25th, 2022 is "Do it for the Culture" Dress Day in honor of Black History Month. This is a day where we want you to dress in your cultural clothing, wear green, yellow and red and or wear something created by Black people like bucket hats, bell bottoms and or track suits. Please take a pic of your fit in front of the Black History Mural and use hashtag #UTHSBHM. Please send picture submissions via email to Ms.Ross at for a chance to win best dressed!
