The Homecoming permission slips for outside guests are available in the general office or student services. The forms must be turned in with the guest's ID attached no later than Wednesday, September 24th. Please remember to keep track of your discipline visits to student services if you want to attend the dance.  

Attention Seniors interested in being on the Homecoming Royalty Ballot: 

A Google Form will be sent to all seniors on Monday, September 8, and must be submitted by Friday, September 12, at 3 pm.  The guidelines are as follows:  Students may only sign up themselves and must meet the eligibility criteria of passing 5 classes, have 5 referrals or less this semester, and have 5 days or less of unexcused/excused absences this semester.

Attention all students! Class shirts for the homecoming assembly are now back available till this Wednesday, the 10th. Get yours now before they sell out.

Students, the East Moline Public Library is offering limited edition UT library cards!. They will only be available this month, which is Library Card Sign Up Month. Stop in at the East Moline Public Library or apply online. These are only for East Moline Library cardholders. Europe Trip 2026 - UTHS students have the opportunity to travel to Germany, Czech 

Republic, Poland, and Hungary this summer. We will visit the beautiful cities of Prague, Krakow, and Budapest. We will see historic sites in Berlin, including several WWII locations and Auschwitz in Poland. This is truly a wonderful trip through central Europe that is sure to wow with the beautiful towns, mountains, cities, and vibrant cultures. Join us for an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 10th, at 6 pm in the UTHS library.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Monson at hmonson@uths.net or stop by for an informational flier. 

GUIDANCE:

Students, Ms. Eden DeTombe, the ISAC representative, will be at UT tomorrow from 9 to 11:30, Sep 10, to meet with students. If you want to get a head start on the FAFSA, please sign up in the Guidance Office to meet with Ms. DeTombe.  

Students, Black Hawk College will not be at UT today. The college representative is out sick. The planned visit for today will be rescheduled. 

The Quad Cities Rowing Club seeks volunteers for Friday, September 19, or Saturday, September 20, 2025, for its running of the 'Sprint the Miss Regatta', a 1500-meter water sprint race. There are a lot of volunteer spots available. See Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor, for specific duties. 

Students, RICCA (Rock Island County Council of Addictions) seeks volunteers for the QC Community Suicide Prevention Walk on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, at the Wharton Field House. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, see Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor. 

Attention Seniors wanting to re-take the ACT.  We will offer the ACT on October 17th at UTHS.  Please sign up at the counseling office by September 26th.  Please see Mrs. Whitcher in the counseling office if you have any questions. 

ALTERNATIVES, a social services organization in Moline, IL, is looking for student volunteers. If you are interested in helping and making a positive impact on the lives of senior citizens, please see Mr. Davis, the College and Career Advisor, for more information.

Students, volunteers are needed for the Silvis Hispanic Heritage Festival on Saturday, September 13, from 12 to 8 p.m. See Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor, if interested in earning community service hours.

Attention all UT Students.  We are proud to announce the beginning of our 5th year of unique after-school activities, thanks to the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community learning Center grant.  The following clubs and activities will begin on September 8th:

  • E-Sports Club

  • Peer Mentoring Club

  • STEM Club

  • UTime Club 

  • Gearheads Club

  • Multicultural Club

  • Health Occupations Preparation for Excellence

  • Zero Hour Tutoring/Credit Recovery

  • Black Hawk Adult Education Courses.

You can find more information on each club/activity in the counseling office or in your email.  You must register in the counseling office to participate. 

It is AP testing sign-up time.  If you are in an AP class, you will sign up for the test with your teacher.  For all other AP testing, please come to the counseling office and ask for the signup sheet. See Mrs. Whitcher if you have any questions.

SPORTS:

There will be an open softball workout on Wednesday, September 10th, from 3:30-5 pm on the varsity softball field. If you have questions, see Coach Alonzo or Coach Tapia.

Attention Girls who are interested or planning to join the Girls Bowling team for the 2025-26 season: there will be a short meeting on Wednesday, September 10th, in the Seminar room located inside the library.  The meeting starts at 3:10 pm. It will last approximately 20 minutes. If you have any questions,  please email Coach Krack at skrack@uths.net 

CLUBS:

The HOPE club will be meeting this Wednesday, September 10, from 3:15 to 5:00 in room 189V. This week, we will be voting on committees for our Program of Work. Be sure to attend!

Student Council will be meeting this Friday at 7:30am in room 109S. This week we'll vote on Homecoming decorations and we hope to see you there!

Students, if you are interested in joining the Gearheads Club, join Mr. Ron and Mr. Thirtyacre for our weekly gatherings on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:15 PM in the Auto Mechanics shop. Sign-up sheets are available from Mr Ron,  Mr Thirtyacre, and in the counseling Office!
