Students,
The Homecoming permission slips for outside guests are available in the general office or student services. The forms must be turned in with the guest's ID attached no later than Wednesday, September 24th. Please remember to keep track of your discipline visits to student services if you want to attend the dance.
SENIORS AND SENIOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Yearbook Senior Baby Ads are available for purchase until November 7, 2025. See Mrs. Green in 126E and the
General Office for an order form, or visit uths.net for online ordering instructions. Each baby ad section, which is one-eighth of a page, is $30 if paid with cash or check. The price increases to $31.50 per section if paid with a credit card. If you have any questions, please contact Natalie Green at skyline@uths.net.
Students, the East Moline Public Library is offering limited edition UT library cards! They will only be available this month, which is Library Card Sign Up Month. Stop in at the East Moline Public Library or apply online. These are only for East Moline Library cardholders. If you have any questions, please email eastmolinepl@eastmolinelibrary.org or call 309-755-9614.
UTHS provides two ways for students to access the internet on their Chromebooks while at home. The first is community-wide WiFi called LinQ. Coverage extends through large parts of East Moline, Silvis, Carbon Cliff, Colona, and surrounding areas. UTHS Chromebooks connect to this automatically. It will appear as LinQ_Edu.
For those who live in areas not covered by LinQ, UTHS has a limited supply of wireless hotspots that can be checked out from the Student Store. If you are interested in checking out a hotspot, please discuss it with your counselor to obtain the permission sheet.
ALTERNATIVES, a social services organization located in Moline, IL, is looking for student volunteers. If you are interested in helping and making a positive impact in the life of senior citizens, please see Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor, for more information.
GUIDANCE:
Students, Black Hawk College is hosting Transfer Exploration Night on Wednesday, September 24, from 6 - 8 p.m.. The event is geared toward high school students starting at Black Hawk and transferring to one of the Illinois State System schools. The event will discuss transfer guidelines, resources, and the State System Transfer Guarantee. If you have questions, see your school counselor or Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor.
Students, please join us at the first-ever UTHS College Fair on October 23, 2025. The event will take place in Gym B from 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event is open to All seniors and juniors, and also to only sophomores enrolled in college prep and accelerated classes. If you plan on attending, please see your teacher, school Counselor or Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor.
Students, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) rep, Ms. Eden DeTombe, will be at UT on today, Wednesday, Sep 17, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. to meet with students. If you want to get a jump on completing the FAFSA, sign up in the Counseling Office to meet with Ms. DeTombe. Remember, the earlier you start, the sooner you finish!
Students, are you interested in attending college in Illinois and majoring in Education? If so, you should meet with Mr. Shawn Johnson of the Golden Apple Foundation. Mr. Johnson will be at UT today, Wednesday, September 17, to talk with students about the Golden Apple Scholarship that pays for college tuition for four years. That's right! Free tuition for four years. Sign up in the Counseling Office to meet with the Golden Apple Foundation rep.
Students, a United States Army representative will be at UT on Thursday, Sep 18 in the Commons area. If you want to learn about the many opportunities in the US Army, please visit with the Army rep on Thursday, September 18.
SPORTS:
There will be an open softball workout today, Wednesday, September 17th, from 3:30-5 pm on the varsity softball field. Any questions, see Coach Alonzo or Coach Tapia.
CLUBS:
Volunteers are needed for the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive this weekend. We will work Friday 4-7 pm, and Saturday 8 am-4 pm. If anyone is available and interested, please email or see Mrs. Drish in the counseling office.
Students, Gamer’s Club will meet this Friday from 3 to 5 in room 149N.
Fosters Voice will be meeting this Friday in Gym A at 7 am. There will be donuts and fun activities to participate in. Be there if you want to have a good time and eat a donut.
Student Council will meet this Friday in room 109S at 7:30 am. If you ordered a Student Council shirt, make sure to pick it up at the meeting this Friday!
A little something to get your hopes up: The Hope Club will meet today, Wednesday, 9/17, in room 189V from 3:15 to 5:00 pm. We will continue to progress on Homecoming preparations. See you soon!
The next Interact Club meeting will be on Wednesday, September 24th, at 7:30 am in Room 119C. We will have a guest speaker presenting on the Peer Justice Program.
Come find out what the program is and how to volunteer if you are interested. Please be on time so we can start promptly at 7:30. All students are welcome to attend.
We are excited to announce a new club here at UT called P7! Come to learn more about God, have fun, and eat food! Our first meeting is this Friday, September 19th, in 251N at 7:15. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and we'll see you there!

general office. The forms correspond with class powderpuff shirts: freshmen are green, sophomores red, juniors purple, and seniors pink.
