Students,  Black Hawk College is hosting Transfer Exploration Night tonight from 6 - 8 

p.m.. The event is geared toward high school students starting at Black Hawk and transferring to one of the Illinois State System schools. The event will discuss transfer guidelines, resources, and the State System Transfer Guarantee. If you have questions, see your school counselor or Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor. 

Attention Freshman IJAG Students from Northeast Middle School, tomorrow morning Mr. Looten would like to see you in the cafeteria area briefly for his quarterly check in. Columbia University, one of the premier Ivy League schools, renowned for strong academic programs across many programs of study, will be visiting UTHS today. If you are interested in Computer Science, Engineering or Neuroscience, you may want to know more about how Columbia University can help prepare you for your future. To visit with Mr. Ian Davis, the Columbia University representative, please 

sign up in the Counseling Office. 

Attention Seniors wanting to re-take the ACT.  We will offer the ACT on October 17th at UTHS.  Please sign up at the counseling office by September 26th.  Please see Mrs. Whitcher in the counseling office if you have any questions. 

It is AP testing sign-up time.  If you are in an AP class, you will sign up for the test with your teacher.  For all other AP testing, please come to the counseling office and ask for the signup sheet. See Mrs. Whitcher if you have any questions.

SPORTS:

There will be an open softball workout after school today, from 3:30 to 5 pm on the varsity field. Any questions, see Coach Alonzo or Coach Tapia.

CLUBS:

Attention Students! Did you know that suicide is the second leading cause of death among teenagers? This month is Suicide Prevention Month, and the Hope Club is dedicated to raising awareness and spreading hope. On Thursday, September 25th, during all lunch periods, the Hope Club will be hosting an education table in the cafeteria. Stop by to learn more, pick up resources, and show your support for suicide prevention. Let’s work together to remind each other that help is out there and no one is ever alone.

Attention all students! The sign-up forms for the Powderpuff game are available in the general office. The forms correspond with class powderpuff shirts: freshmen are green, sophomores red, juniors purple, and seniors pink.

There will be an informational meeting for those interested in joining the speech team on Friday, September 26th, at 3:15 in 224E. The speech team consists of 14 events across four categories: public speaking, acting, limited prep, and book. Competitors gain experience with poetry, radio broadcasting, political/economic discourse, and much more. There is something for everyone! Come learn more about our state qualifying team next Friday after school in 224E. See Mr. Greer with any questions.

The Panther Players have been working hard on our fall production: an evening of One-Act Plays. We have three wonderful short plays that explore traditional folklore, gender, and old age. It's not something you will want to miss! Come see "Wiley and the Hairy Man", "A Jury of Her Peers", and "Any Body for Tea?" Friday, September 26th, through Sunday, September 28th, in the auditorium. Student tickets are $7 and can be purchased by scanning the QR code on the flyer or at the door. See you then!
