Are you a sophomore or junior?  Are you interested in learning more about how school government works?  The UTHS Board of Education has an opening for a student Board of Education Liaison member.

One student will be selected to fill out the remainder of this year and beyond, depending on your grade. Interviews will likely take place in December, with hopeful seating at the January 12 Board meeting.

A job description and application are available in the General Office, and also on the UTHS website.  Applications will be accepted through 3:30 p.m. on Friday, November 21, and are to be submitted to the General Office..

GUIDANCE:

Seniors - It's time to start checking the scholarship list weekly for updates. Please check the Google Classroom weekly. A list is also in the counseling office, so stop by anytime to take a look. The newest posts involve auto dealerships, students with a hunting license, and even full tuition to Black Hawk College. See Mrs. Drish with any questions.

Students, remember the ASVAB test is scheduled for tomorrow. The test will begin at 8:00 and last approximately 3 hours. If you signed up to take the test, please report to the Library and bring a fully charged Chromebook. If you have questions, see your school counselor or Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor.

SPORTS:

Spending time at the pool is a year-round activity! Any boys looking for a winter sport, make a splash with swimming and diving! The season starts on Monday, November 24th, and further information can be found at the pool with head coach Allison Patch.

Multicultural Club will be hosting Thanksgiving Grams! Please stop by the table in the Commons during lunch on Thursday or Friday to fill out a Thanksgiving Gram for someone you are thankful for.

Hey Honey Bees! Our Annual Queensgiving event will be held on November 20th at 315 in room 187V, Mrs. Jackson's room.  Please go into your Google Classroom for more details and to RSVP fo the event, please do so by Monday, November 17th.   If you have any questions, please see Ms. Jackson or Ms. Clearman.

November is No Shave November, a month dedicated to raising awareness for cancer prevention, research, and support for those affected by cancer.

Did you know that 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime? No Shave November encourages people to embrace their hair—the hair many cancer patients lose during treatment—and donate the money they would normally spend on shaving or grooming to cancer-related causes. To learn more, stop by the H.O.P.E. Club’s educational table during all lunch periods on Thursday, November 13th. There, you can pick up information and show your support for those fighting cancer. Let’s come together as a school community to raise awareness!

Attention H.O.P.E. Club members! We will be taking our yearbook picture today after school in the auditorium at 3:20PM. We will have our meeting after, but report to the auditorium first.
