Calling all seniors! The Senior packet is one of the many rites of passage that you will experience in your final year at United Township. This packet includes important items such the opportunity to select your senior quote for the yearbook, voting for the Stanley Cup Award winners, and the senior activities list to name a few. Said packets will be distributed during your English classes within the next day or two. Please complete the entire packet and return it to your English teacher or Mrs. Green in 126E by December 1. If you do not have an English class this semester, stop by the General Office, Mrs. Green's room, or the Student Store in the Commons for your copy.
Lights. Camera. Future! The Fresh Films Filmmaking Program is looking for students interested in the film industry. The program gives students the skills, mentorship, and industry connections to launch a career in film, digital media, and beyond.
Learn about content creation, filmmaking, editing, and engage with professionals from Sony, Paramount, Roku, Netflix, and more — all for FREE!
Want more info on Fresh Films? See Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor.
Are you a sophomore or junior? Are you interested in learning more about how school government works? The UTHS Board of Education has an opening for a student Board of Education Liaison member.
One student will be selected to fill out the remainder of this year and beyond, depending on your grade. Interviews will likely take place in December, with hopeful seating at the January 12 Board meeting.
A job description and application are available in the General Office, and also on the UTHS website. Applications will be accepted through 3:30 p.m. today, and are to be submitted to the General Office.
UT will be participating in the 28th annual US Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive. This year, over 6,000 children will register for assistance, which translates to over 29,000 gifts generously given to help the less fortunate in the Quad Cities. You can help by donating a new, unwrapped toy; simply drop it off in the General Office or Library by Wednesday, December 10th. Two evening field trips open to all UT students to the Toys For Tots Distribution Center are planned for Tuesday, December 2nd, and Wednesday, December 10th, but space is limited to only “25” students per night; pick up permission slips in the library. If you know of a family who may be in need of help this Christmas, they will need to register online at the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots website. Registration ends on November 24th.
GUIDANCE:
The Quad Cities Community Foundation scholarships are now open. There are nearly 20 scholarships for UT seniors, so all students planning to further their education should apply. Applications are online, as well as informational sessions to help. Find the link on the Counseling Google Classroom.
