Attention students! Holiday dress-up days are coming soon. Make sure to keep an eye out for the theme days, which will take place during the last week before break — December 15th through the 19th. Get ready to show your school spirit!

Students, Grinch gram sales will take place on the 11th and 12th during all lunch periods, and in front of the auditorium, the morning of the 12th. Each Grinch gram is 2$, and students must know the second-period room # of the person they're sending it to.

GUIDANCE:

The Quad Cities Community Foundation scholarships are now open. There are nearly 20 scholarships for UT seniors, so all students planning to further their education should apply. Applications are online, as well as informational sessions to help. Find the link on the Counseling Google Classroom. 

Students, the Hampton Youth Committee has two (2) volunteer opportunities for December: First - Saturday, Dec 13 from 9 - 11 a.m., the Committee will host CRAFTS WITH SANTA. This event involves games and hands-on crafts for various ages of kids. 

Second - this event takes place on Saturday, Dec 20 from 2 - 5.  The committee will present the GRINCH UNSLUMBER PARTY. Volunteers needed to babysit toddlers for 3 hours (2 - 5 p.m.). See Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor, for sign up info. 

The National Hispanic Institute (NHI) out of Maxwell, Texas, will visit UTHS on Tuesday, December 9, during Period 3 to meet with freshmen and sophomores who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher. The NHI sponsors a six-day leadership experience for future Hispanic leaders from Illinois and seven other states. If you are interested in attending an informational session to learn how the NHI can offer full tuition assistance for college, sign up in the Guidance Office and/or see Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor, for more information. 

Students - the Davenport Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, one of the largest Black female Greek-letter sororities with over 350,000 members worldwide, is taking applications for membership.

Membership is open to any woman, regardless of religion, race, or nationality. Deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m. on December 22, 2025.

The sorority is dedicated to sisterhood, scholarship, and public service.

Link Crew is hosting a cocoa and cookies event for all freshmen to enjoy. Please join us in the commons after school on Wednesday, December 17th, from 3:15-4:15. We will decorate a cookie and enjoy some cocoa. The bus will be available for students who need a ride. Link Leaders - please let Ms. LaFountaine or Mrs. Drish know if you can help out.
