BUS 22 - 2nd run students will ride BUS 30 today

BUS 31 - 2nd run students (downtown EM) will ride BUS 18 today on 1st run

The Student Council will be selling ice cream after school on friday, February 20th. We hope to see you there!

Students, ACCESS testing with Mr. Z is cancelled today.

UTHS is thrilled to share exciting new! Our own, David Hayford, has been named the Youth Symphony Orchestra Prize winner with the Quad City Symphony Youth Ensemble and will be featured as a soloist at their Winter Concert. David will perform the first movement of "Concerto da esperimento" by Gioachino Rossini on Sunday, February 15 at 3:00 pm at the Davenport Central High School Performing Arts Center. UT students and teachers attend free! Companion tickets for parents or other guests are available for $5. To reserve tickets, email "utband@uths.net" with the number of student/teacher tickets needed and the number of $5 companion tickets requested. 

Valentine Day is fastly approaching, Panthers!! IJAG Program will be selling Valentine Sucker grams this week starting Tomorrow February 10th to Friday February 13th  for $1.50 and to Honor Black History there will be Key Chains for $2.00. Check it out during 4th, 5th and 6th lunch period in the Commons.  Support IJAG

It's that time of the year to make the Plunge for the Special Olympics teams and athletes. We are asking all coaches, clubs, and organizations to come out and participate. There are two ways to support. Plunge as a team or sponsor an athlete. Polar Plunge packets will be available in the general office for pickup. Please have your teams turned in by February 26th. If you have any questions, please contact Jill Sanders-Colgan.

Attention Students! Sadie’s is happening on February 21st!  Get ready for a magical night with our Winter Wonderland theme. Ticket sales will began Monday February 16th. 13$ for a single and 25$ for a couple. For more details or questions, be sure to attend this week’s Student Council meeting.

Students! Get excited for the upcoming Panther Pant! The official date is Wednesday April 22nd. The 1 mile at 5:30 and 3 mile at 6:00pm. Sign ups are now available on the Booster page or on the flyers located around UT. For updates and additional information, reach out to Student Council or attend our daily meetings every Friday.

GUIDANCE:

Students, visitors to UT this week: Black Hawk College will visit tomorrow, February 10 during Period 3 - IL Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) will visit on Wednesday, February 11 from 9-11:30. Army National Guard will visit on Thursday, February 12 during all lunch periods. Please sign up in the Counseling Office to meet with the Black Hawk College rep, or the ISAC rep if you need to finalize FAFSA for 2026.

Students, the last day to record Community Service Hours or volunteer hours is February 26. You must have earned 100 community service hours to be eligible to wear the Silver cord at graduation. Those hours need to be reported by February 26. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS!!! February 26 is the deadline to submit community service hours. If you have questions, please see Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor.

Any juniors who missed the registration presentation should stop by the counseling office to get the materials. You can find a link to the presentation and directions in your email. Online registration will end on the night of February 10th, and you will meet with counselors on February 10th and 11th. 

SPORTS:

Big shout-out to the speech team who reclaimed the Regional Champion title this past weekend! Fourteen out of 15 events placed in the top three and advance to Sectionals this upcoming weekend. Individual regional champions include Gracie Pfaff and Wyatt Snow in Humorous Duet Acting, Bayan Nhar in Informative Speaking, Gracie Pfaff in Original Comedy, Iris Stockwell in Original Oratory, Nick Rhodes in Radio Speaking, and the Performance in the Round team. Wish them luck as they fight to advance to State!

CLUBS:

The LGBT+ club is having a meeting next week in Miss Williams' room 125E, after school, on Tuesday, February 10th. The club will be planning their Comfy Day event, afterwards, activities and snacks will be available to celebrate Valentine's Day!

Buzz Buzz Honeybees! It's time to RSVP for Galentine's Day! This is a day where we celebrate our best friends and practice some much-needed self-love. We will have crafts, snacks, and a few raffle items. We will be celebrating on Thursday, February 12 from 3:15-5:15 pm. RSVP will close on Tuesday, so BEE sure to rsvp. 

Mariachi will rehearse after school today. This is our last Monday afternoon rehearsal before switching to evenings.

Students! The Student Council will be meeting this Friday, February 13th in room 109S @ 7:30am. Come to the meeting, and learn more about Sadies, The Panther Pant, The Polar Plunge and volunteer opportunities!

All students who want to bring a guess the Sadies Dance on February 21st, MUST fill out a guest request form located in Student Services.

The H.O.P.E. Club will be meeting in room 189V on Wednesday at 3:15 pm.

PROM Committee will be meeting on Wednesday in the Counseling Office at 7:15 am. We are working on this year's theme.
